Signal Transformer BH Series Control Transformers Take On Harsh Factory Conditions

Control transformers live in a tough spot. They have to feed stable voltage to control circuits even when everything else in the system is pulling hard current at start-up. Add the heat, dust, and vibration of an industrial floor, and it’s no wonder these components are often a weak link. Signal Transformer, part of the Bel Group, has introduced the BH Series to handle that environment without flinching, combining robust construction with features aimed at long-term reliability in demanding industrial applications.

Keeping Output Steady

When motors, solenoids, or contactors kick in, the inrush current can drag voltage down far enough to make relays chatter or timers lose their place. The BH Series is designed to ride out those surges and keep output voltage where it needs to be. Electrical isolation means they can work with grounded or ungrounded circuits, so they are not at the mercy of whatever else is running on the local supply.

Protection From the Environment

Each unit is epoxy encapsulated, which seals the windings from moisture and airborne debris while also keeping them mechanically stable. That stability helps resist vibration damage over time. Heat management has also been improved, which is important in crowded panels with minimal airflow.

For builds that benefit from built-in protection, the BH-0100BFB model comes with a two-pole fuse block already installed. That saves panel space and reduces wiring, while still giving the circuit protection you’d normally add separately.

Specs in Brief

Both the BH-0100B and BH-0100BFB deliver 100 VA of single-phase power, mount to a chassis, and support universal input setups. They meet UL 506, UL 5085-2, ANSI/NEMA ST-1, and RoHS, so they slot into most industrial compliance requirements without fuss.

Typical uses include powering machine tool controls, motor starters, or control panels packed with relays, timers, and solenoids. Lead time is 16 weeks, built to order, making them a fit for planned builds where long service life and steady performance are priorities.
