Rohde & Schwarz has launched the R&S TSMS8, a super-wideband mobile network scanner designed to redefine how operators measure and optimise next-generation networks. Covering frequencies from 10 MHz to 8.5 GHz, and up to 53 GHz when paired with the TSMS53DC downconverter, the new system captures the full breadth of current and emerging cellular bands in a single platform.
The TSMS8 integrates a 400 MHz front-end bandwidth with industry-leading scanning speed, allowing significantly more data to be collected within the same drive test route. That translates directly to fewer re-drives, faster verification and lower operational cost, a meaningful improvement for teams managing dense or geographically wide 5G deployments.
Broad Spectrum Coverage and Multi-Technology Support
By design, the TSMS8 supports all major cellular technologies, from GSM through LTE to 5G NR. Its ability to measure across both sub-6 GHz and mmWave frequencies enables consistent performance evaluation across diverse environments, from city cores to rural coverage zones. When extended with the TSMS53DC downconverter, the scanner reaches into the 53 GHz range to evaluate 5G FR2 and early 6G research bands.
