Molex has introduced the MiniMix Hybrid Power and Signal Connector family, combining up to 15.0 A power delivery and 1 Gbps 1000BASE-T1 Ethernet within a single connector. Developed for robotics and industrial automation equipment, the new family is designed for applications where both power and data must pass through confined spaces inside joints, actuators and other moving assemblies.
According to Molex, the connector routes through openings as small as 5.65 mm, allowing pre-terminated cable assemblies to be installed where individual wires would normally need to be threaded during assembly.
Hybrid Design Reduces Connector Count
MiniMix carries both power and Ethernet through the same connector, removing the need for separate power and signal interfaces. The connector supports up to 15.0 A alongside 1000BASE-T1 Gigabit Ethernet and is intended for robotic joints, end-effectors and actuator assemblies.
Molex says the connector requires up to 50% less routing area than alternative hybrid connector solutions. The compact routing profile also allows complete cable assemblies to pass through narrow internal channels, reducing the amount of manual wiring required during assembly.
Vertical and Right-Angle Versions Available
The MiniMix family is available in both vertical and right-angle orientations, allowing the connector to be selected according to the mechanical layout of the application. Molex is also offering the family as wire-to-board connectors and as pre-terminated cable assemblies. The connector has been designed for applications involving continuous movement, where cables are repeatedly flexed during normal operation, such as robotic joints and articulated mechanisms.
Samples and functional evaluation assemblies are available now, with commercial production scheduled to begin later in 2026.

Technology Overview
Hybrid connectors combine power and data connections within a single interface. By reducing the number of individual connectors and cables required, they can simplify wiring in systems where installation space is limited or where cable routing passes through moving mechanical assemblies.
