ROHM developed the SDR01 series by optimizing the resistive element and electrode designs. The resulting 0.33 W rating is guaranteed up to a rated terminal temperature of 125°C. Putting this power rating into an 0402 package gives designers the option of replacing larger resistors in space-constrained designs. Depending on the circuit requirements, ROHM also sees the potential to consolidate multiple resistors where a higher individual power rating is needed.
The anti-surge construction is intended for circuits where resistors can be exposed to transient events, including power supply circuits and areas around interfaces where surge and ESD resistance are required.
Resistance Stability Across Temperature
Alongside its higher power handling, the SDR01 series has a specified temperature coefficient of resistance of ±100 ppm/°C across resistance values from 10 Ω to 2.2 MΩ. The figure applies to F-class devices with a ±1% resistance tolerance.
